Given the following issues with using Netbackup as a Master Server on Microsoft Windows:
* Fragmentation when disk staging is used (and it should generally be used);
* Limited command line support (to automate tasks); and
* Poor performance (and poor instrumenting so you can't determine why it is slow)
It should be immediately obvious as to why one would want to migrate to the UNIX platform for backups. Symantec support indicated that they had no idea why anyone would want to do this.
